I'm playing Foldit for nearly four years under the name marie_s. My work and formation are not in relation with biology.
I started playing Foldit after reading an article in The Economist in May 2008.
Previously, I had an understanding of protein folding through distributed computing by folding@ home that turned my computer on for several years.
My goal is not to understand the biology of proteins even if little by little I gain some knowledge.
I immediately liked this game, because:
- even if it is to solve a puzzle, the game is somehow manual
- experience gradually guide our actions towards a more probable protein but the game evolve in time
- communication between players and competition enlarge the experience
- the perceptive to add to scientific knowledge .
