The secondary structure of this protein has alternating sheets and helices, with loops of significant size separating them. It is therefore possible to fold each helix back upon the sheet prior. This allows the sheets to line up in parallel in the center of the protein, while giving plenty of room for the helices to completely encircle the sheets.
