So you want to launch Foldit from the desktop? Here's how.
Create a text file on your desktop named Foldit.desktop with the following text. You must replace username with your login name and change the path to match the path where the Foldit executable is located. Change the files properties to be executable and there you go. Terminal can be set to false but error measages from Foldit will not be seen.
